PARTY: REX GARVIN

Check your silencers at the door and join the Spy Vibe party! We started this morning with The Selecter's "James Bond." Now Rex Garvin and the Mighty Cravers take the stage with "Sock it To 'Em J.B." The song was released in 1966 on Like Records (US Cat#45-301) and on Atlantic in the UK. Spy Vibers will enjoy the lyrics, which shout out many James Bond titles: Dr. No, Goldfinger, Thunderball, and Casino Royale. The tune also served as a nod to James Brown. It was covered by The Specials (More Specials/1980) and released in 2014 as an audiophile single. Their cover included the addition of the Goldfinger melody played by brass during the turnarounds. For readers who like to A/B, I will include The Specials version below as well (set to 007 film footage). Enjoy!
